Conditions of Use

These conditions of use apply to all transactions in the Pear Tree Designs online store. By placing an order with us, you are indicating that you have read, and agree to, these conditions of use.

Information on our products

Pear Tree Designs make every effort to describe and photograph the items for sale in our online store as accurately as we can. Much of our stock is handmade, so please allow for variations from the photographs when ordering. Please also note that the colours you see on screen will depend on your computer monitor and we cannot guarantee that the colour of the item you order will be exactly the same as that you have seen on your screen. Please also read the colour descriptions given alongside the items. 

Please note that where vintage fabrics have been used to make our handmade items, these products will only be available in limited numbers and we will not be able to source these fabrics again. Most of our vintage fabrics have never been used and are in excellent condition. However, these are old fabrics and we cannot guarantee colour fast dyes and some of the fabrics have slight weaving flaws. These add to the character of the vintage fabrics and are in no way detrimental but please bear this in mind when ordering.

All sizes and measurements given are approximate. As many of the products are handmade, there may be some small variations from the details given.

Prices in our online store are quoted in British Pounds (GBP). Prices are subject to change without notice. Please note that Pear Tree Designs is not currently registered for UK Value Added Tax (sales tax) and this is reflected in our pricing.

Pear Tree Designs endeavour to only show products which are in stock and available for purchase in our online store.  We buy stock in limited amounts and occasionally we may not be able to satisfy your order. In these circumstances we will email you as soon as possible and provide a full refund through PayPal to the credit or debit card you used when you placed your order.


When you have selected the items you wish to order from our online store, please proceed to the checkout and select the payment method you wish to use. We accept PayPal for card and bank payments, or cheque/postal order if you prefer (please see further details in the ‘How to Pay’ section below).

Once payment has been authorised, you will receive an email confirming your order with us. We will also email you to let you know that your package has been posted.

If your item is not in stock, we will email you with an estimated delivery date, or provide you with a full refund if the item is no longer available.

How to Pay 

Pear Tree Designs accepts payments via PayPal, which is a secure payment gateway that enables you to make payment using all major credit cards or through your bank. Our customer’s bank or card details are never sent to us, these are retained by PayPal in their secure environment.

You do not need to be registered with PayPal to use their service for online payments; you can select the ‘do not have a PayPal account’ option to use their service without having to register with them.

You can also arrange to pay us by cheque or postal order made payable to Pear Tree Designs. For payments by these methods, we will set aside the items you have ordered but we will not be able to despatch them until the payment has cleared with our bank. If you would like to send payment by cheque or postal order please email us at:, and we will send an email confirming your order.

Returns & Exchanges

If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase from Pear Tree Designs we can refund or exchange items provided they are returned to us:

• in unused, perfect condition
• in the original packaging, and
• with all labels intact

within 7 days of receipt for UK orders and 14 days for international orders.

Please send us an email to:, letting us know that you are sending the item back to us, and stating the reason why you are returning it.

Please obtain proof of postage for the item you are returning, as we cannot be held responsible for any items that are lost in the post.

The costs of the postage you incur in returning an item to us will be your responsibility and will only be refunded if the item is deemed to be faulty. We try to ensure that nothing is supplied to our customers that would be considered faulty; if the fault is the result of wear and tear or improper use, we will not be able to offer a refund.

We will process the refund or exchange for any goods returned as soon as possible but at the latest within 30 days of receipt. Any refunds via PayPal will be made to the account that you used when you paid for the original order. Orders paid for by cheque or postal order will be refunded accordingly. 

Privacy Policy

Pear Tree Designs fully respect the privacy of our online customers and will never release your details to any third parties – we know how annoying that is!

As stated above, we do not have access to our customer’s bank account or credit/debit card details as we use PayPal to process payments.

Your email address will be retained on our files and we may occasionally email you with details of offers, new stock arrivals or end of season sales. If you would prefer not to receive emails from us, please just let us know and we will delete your details from our mailing list.
